HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The name Interactive Science
Education Exhibit Center (ISEEC) was coined in December 1994 during
the deliberations of the Science Building Task Force.
- After four years of meticulous and
painstaking planning and construction, the Sonderegger Science
Center was open for business in January 1999.
- The Science Building was dedicated
by the physicist, astronaut, Sally Ride in April 1999.

- The ISEEC Committee was appointed
and met for the first time in October 1999.
- The ISEEC comprises the heart of the
building, located in a central atrium near all the main entrances.
- The ISEEC houses interactive,
multimedia exhibits to convey an integrated view of nature and
science. Incorporating a wide range of media, e.g. physical models,
living systems, computer simulations etc., these exhibits will be
eye-catching, active, and engrossing for science students of all
ages.
- Teachers and students at different
grade levels (K-16) work collaboratively on a variety of science
projects and display and discuss their work.
